<p>The wing has the 107th FS as its flying unit and has operated the F-16C/D since 1994, with a C-26B support. The 107th was established in 1918 for duty in France and was mobilized in October 1940. The unit returned to federal control in September 1946 as the 107th Bombadment Squadron with the A-26 at Detroit-Wayne Major Airport. It adopted the F-84B in 1950, becoming a Fighter Squadron before being called to active duty in February 1951 for 21 months. The unit became a Fighter-Interceptor Squadron at the end of 1952 flying the F-51H, followed by the F-86E and F-89C. In April 1958 the unit became a Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron with the RF-84F. The 127th TRG was activated in October 1962 and upgraded to Wing standard in December 1974. Conversion to the RC-101A/C took place in January 1971, followed in June 1972 by a change to Tactical Fighter Squadron status with assignment of the F-100D. The A-7D was received in September 1978, followed by the F-16A in April 1990.
